The project
Haven & Keys is a short-term rental management company in Malta that looks after holiday lets on behalf of property owners, backed by the JL Group’s in-house cleaning, maintenance and property teams. M7Alpha designed and built the Haven & Keys website, created the brand identity and logo, built a custom internal system for the business and provides its social media and digital marketing, and we also host and maintain the site. This case study looks at how one website serves two very different visitors: the owner deciding who should manage their property, and the guest looking for somewhere to stay.
What did Haven & Keys need from its website?
It needed a website that earns the trust of property owners first, while still giving guests a clear route to book. Handing over a property is a big decision, so owners want to know exactly what is included, how the fees work and who will actually do the work.
The positioning was clear from the start: hotel-grade management for short-term rentals, delivered by in-house teams rather than a chain of outside contractors. The website had to turn that promise into concrete detail an owner can compare.
How does one website talk to property owners and guests?
The main menu separates the two audiences from the first click: owners go to For Owners, guests go to Our Listings or Book Now.
Under For Owners sit three pages: How it Works, Management Packages and Why Us. Our Listings sends guests to the company’s properties on Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO, platforms they already know and trust for booking. A Free Proposal button stays in the header for owners who are ready to talk. Neither audience has to read content written for the other.
Which pages answer an owner’s questions before they enquire?
Each owner page is built around one question, roughly in the order an owner tends to ask it.
| Page | The owner’s question it answers |
|---|---|
| How it Works | What exactly will you do with my property, from listings and pricing to housekeeping, maintenance and guest communication? |
| Management Packages | Which level of service suits me, and how is the commission worked out? |
| Why Us | Why in-house teams instead of outside contractors? |
| About Us | Who is behind the company? |
| Free Proposal | How do I get a rental income assessment for my own property? |
The Management Packages page carries much of the weight. It sets out three tiers, from a Digital Management option for owners who run the day-to-day themselves to Standard and Premium packages for owners who want a complete, hands-off service. It also explains in plain words that commission is charged on net rental revenue, after platform and cleaning fees are deducted. Owners ask about fees early, so the site answers openly.
How it Works closes the loop by describing what owners keep control of once they sign up: a live booking calendar, the option to block dates for their own stays, and clear monthly statements of earnings.
Why does the JL Group connection feature so prominently?
Because it is the evidence behind the promise.
The homepage states that the service is powered by the JL Group, and the service sections name JL Cleaning and JL Maintenance as the teams handling changeovers, linen and repairs. The About Us page explains the group’s background in property and hospitality, and Why Us explains the reasoning: one team, one standard, one point of contact. Naming the teams makes the promise something an owner can check.
Where do the brand, social media and internal system fit in?
They give Haven & Keys one consistent identity wherever owners and guests meet it, and a single place behind the scenes to run the work.
- Brand identity and logo: we created the Haven & Keys brand so the website, the listings and the social channels look and sound like one company.
- Social media and digital marketing: M7Alpha supports the brand’s social media and digital marketing, so what owners and guests see on social channels matches what they read on the website.
- Custom internal system: we built a custom web app for the business. A management company juggles many properties, owners and tasks at once, and a system shaped around its own way of working fits better than a generic tool. Our page on internal systems explains how we approach this kind of build.
- Hosting and maintenance: M7Alpha hosts and maintains the website, so updates and fixes go through the same team that built it.
What can other property management companies learn?
Write for the owner first, because the owner is the one choosing a manager and signing the agreement.
Split the journeys so owners and guests each find their path in one click. Explain fees plainly, including what the percentage is calculated on. Name who does the work and back it with real evidence, such as a parent group or in-house teams. Offer a low-commitment next step, such as a free proposal or income assessment, rather than a hard sell.
Clear, factual pages also help with AI search. When an owner asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity who manages short-term lets in Malta, those assistants lean on websites that state plainly what a company does, how it charges and who stands behind it.

Frequently asked questions
Who designed the Haven & Keys website?
M7Alpha Creative Studios, a web design, development and branding agency in Żurrieq, Malta, designed and built the Haven & Keys website. What is Haven & Keys?
Haven & Keys is a short-term rental management company in Malta, powered by the JL Group. It manages holiday lets for property owners, with in-house teams from JL Cleaning and JL Maintenance handling housekeeping, linen and repairs, and it offers several management packages to suit different owners.
What should a property management website include?
At minimum: a clear explanation of what the service covers, an open explanation of fees and how they are calculated, evidence of who does the work, separate paths for owners and guests, and a simple way to request a proposal. Owners compare managers carefully, so detail builds trust.
Should a rental management company build its own booking system?
Not always. Many guests prefer to book through platforms they already use, such as Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO, so linking to those listings can be the simplest route. A custom internal system is often more valuable behind the scenes, for running properties, owners and tasks. Our guide on custom software vs off-the-shelf covers the trade-offs.
