Case study
Dar tal-Providenza
Sabiħ Li Tagħti is the fundraising website of Id-Dar tal-Providenza for the BOV Volleyball Marathon. M7Alpha designed and built the site, which brings together the event dates, live news, a day-by-day schedule, sponsors and a short donation form. The 2026 marathon raised a record €707,586.

The project
Sabiħ Li Tagħti is the fundraising website of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, the Maltese home founded in 1965 by Mgr Michael Azzopardi that provides residential services to persons with disabilities. Its main event is the BOV Volleyball Marathon, held in 2026 at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali from 16 to 18 July. M7Alpha designed and built the website, and this case study explains how a site for a three-day charity event is planned so that people can follow it, support it and give.
What does a charity marathon website need to do?
It has to work hardest during three days in July, when thousands of people are watching on television, listening on the radio and visiting the venue. In those days visitors want four things quickly: when and where the event is, what is happening right now, how to donate, and how much has been raised.
The site is built around those needs. The menu is short: Home, About, Latest News, Schedule, Donate and Get in Touch, and most of the content lives on a single homepage so nobody has to hunt for it on a phone.
How is the homepage organised?
The homepage opens with the campaign artwork, the dates and the venue, and a Donate Now button. Below it, the page tells the story in a clear order.
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Results banner | Thanks supporters and shows the total raised, a record €707,586 in 2026 |
| Watch Live | Points people to the live broadcasts so they can follow from home |
| About Id-Dar tal-Providenza | Explains who the money helps: three residences and four community homes supporting 115 residents |
| Sponsors and partners | BOV as title sponsor, with Arts Council Malta, PwC and the other partners |
| News and insights | Updates published during the event, from the opening to the final total |
| Volunteer and 5K | Links to the volunteer application and the 5K run registration |
| Donate | A simple form: enter an amount and continue to checkout |
| Schedule | The full programme for each day of the marathon |
How does the site make giving easy?
By keeping the donation step short. The Donate section asks for one thing, the amount, and takes the donor straight to checkout. Donate buttons appear in the menu, the opening banner and the footer, so a visitor is never more than one tap away from giving, whichever part of the page they are reading.
How is the event schedule presented?
The schedule is laid out day by day, from Thursday 16 July to Saturday 18 July, with a time for every item. It mixes the volleyball fixtures, shown with the logos of the sponsor teams playing, with everything else that happens around the clock: radio broadcasts from the MFCC, the official opening by the President of Malta, live entertainment, concerts on the main stage and the 5K run on the final morning. Visitors can plan a visit around the part of the programme they care about.
Why does the news section matter during the event?
Because the story changes by the hour. The news section carries updates such as the official start of the marathon, the opening of the donation lines and, at the end, the record total: 40 players in five teams played for 53 hours, and the 16th edition raised €707,586. Publishing these on the campaign’s own website gives the press, sponsors and supporters one official source to share.
What other charities and event organisers can take from this project
- Plan the site for the event days first: dates, live updates, donations and the programme.
- Keep the donation form to the minimum and repeat the Donate button throughout the page.
- Explain who the money helps, with real numbers, close to the donation call.
- Give sponsors visible, permanent space; it is part of what they are supporting.
- Publish results and news on your own site so there is one official source.
