Case study

AX ODYCY

AX ODYCY is a 4-star seafront resort in Qawra, Malta, run by AX Hotels and formerly known as AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest. M7Alpha designed and built the resort's section of the AX Hotels website, which covers its rooms, restaurants, facilities, offers, events and practical guest questions in one place.

The project

AX ODYCY is a 4-star resort on the coast in Qawra, Malta, redeveloped and renamed from the former AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest, and part of AX Hotels. M7Alpha designed and built the AX ODYCY pages, a complete section of the AX Hotels website that works almost like a site of its own. This case study covers how we gave a large resort with many restaurants, facilities and room types a clear home inside a group website, and how its pages answer guests’ questions before they have to ask.

What did the AX ODYCY pages need to achieve?

They had to introduce a familiar resort under a new name and explain a great deal of choice without overwhelming anyone. AX ODYCY offers rooms and suites with inland or sea views, a wide range of restaurants and bars, an adults-only rooftop pool, a waterpark and conference facilities, and it appeals to families, couples and event organisers alike.

Guests who knew the hotel as AX Seashells needed to recognise it straight away, while new guests needed to see a refreshed seaside resort. So the section’s overview says it in its opening lines: AX ODYCY is the 4-star hotel formerly known as AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest, in the seaside town of Qawra.

How does one resort sit inside a group website?

It has its own navigation, while still sharing the AX Hotels header, footer and group links. Anyone who lands on an AX ODYCY page sees a resort menu with Overview, Photos & Videos, Rooms & Suites, Restaurants, Special Offers, Conferences & Weddings, Location and Contact, plus a More menu for All-Inclusive Packages, Facilities, Awards & Achievements, Latest News, About Us and Help.

Above that, the group navigation still links to the other AX hotels, gift vouchers, staff party venues and My Reservations. A guest can explore the resort in depth without losing their place, and the group keeps one consistent brand across all its properties. It is a useful middle ground between a separate website for every hotel and a single page buried in a long list.

Which pages carry the most weight for a resort guest?

The rooms and restaurants pages, because they cover the two biggest decisions a resort guest makes. The rest of the section fills in the detail around them.

Page The guest’s question it answers
Rooms & Suites Which room suits us, and what is included?
Restaurants Where can we eat, and which places suit families?
Facilities What is there to do at the resort?
All-Inclusive Packages What does all-inclusive cover?
Conferences & Weddings Can we hold a celebration or corporate event here?
Location and Help Where is it, how do we get around and what else should we know?

The restaurants page names the resort’s dining concepts, including Minoa Mediterranean Fusion Restaurant, Trattoria Riccardo, Deck & Keel Buffet Restaurant and Cheeky Monkey Gastropub, and explains which ones work well for families. The events pages speak separately to couples planning a celebration and to companies planning conferences and corporate gatherings.

Why do the AX ODYCY pages include so many FAQs?

Because resort guests ask the same practical questions again and again, and answering them on the right page helps people and AI assistants alike. The rooms page ends with a set of short questions and answers, the restaurants page has its own, and the overview carries quick answers on transport, cots and babysitting. Typical questions include:

  • What types of rooms are available, and what is included in each?
  • Do the rooms have sea views, and are there family rooms?
  • Are there suites with a private hot tub?
  • Do I need to stay at the hotel to eat at its restaurants?
  • Which restaurants suit families with children?

Every answer is short, factual and written in full sentences. That is exactly the kind of content ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity draw on when someone asks whether a Qawra resort has family rooms or whether non-residents can book its restaurants. Our article on AEO vs SEO vs GEO explains why question-and-answer content like this matters for search today.

What can other large resorts take from this project?

Treat each part of the resort as a topic of its own, and give it a page that answers real questions. If a property has changed its name, say so plainly near the top, so returning guests and search engines connect the old name with the new one. Give dining, events and facilities their own pages rather than squeezing them into one long overview. And place FAQs on the pages where questions naturally come up, not only on a central help page.

Frequently asked questions

Who designed the AX ODYCY website?

M7Alpha Creative Studios, a web design, development and branding agency in Żurrieq, Malta, designed and built the AX ODYCY section of the AX Hotels website at axhotelsmalta.com/odycy/. The pages cover the resort’s rooms, restaurants, facilities, offers, events, location and guest FAQs.

Is AX ODYCY the same hotel as AX Seashells?

Yes. AX ODYCY is the redeveloped resort formerly known as AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest, on the coast in Qawra, Malta. It is a 4-star resort operated by AX Hotels.

How should a hotel explain a change of name on its website?

State it plainly near the top of the main page, for example that the hotel was formerly known by its old name. Mention the old name in the page text and description too, so guests and search engines searching for the previous name still find the new one.

What should a resort's rooms page include?

Each room type with its view, layout and what is included, clear photos, and short answers to common questions such as sea views, family rooms and accessibility. A direct route to check availability or book should sit on the same page.
