The project

Prive Yachting runs charter boat trips in Malta, offering private boat charters. M7Alpha created its branding and logo, the identity the business uses to present its charters to guests. This was a branding project, so this case study focuses on what branding has to do for a boat charter business and what M7Alpha delivered.

What did Prive Yachting need?

Prive Yachting needed a brand identity and logo for its private boat charters. For many guests a charter is a special occasion, such as a celebration, a holiday highlight or a day out with family or colleagues, so the brand has to suggest a well-run, enjoyable experience before anyone steps on board.

What does branding need to do for a boat charter business?

Branding for a charter business needs to make a private trip feel special, safe and worth booking at first glance. Guests often compare several operators quickly, usually on their phones, and the one that looks most professional and memorable has an advantage.

  • Feel premium but welcoming: “private” should suggest a personal, well-looked-after day, not something out of reach.
  • Build trust: guests are trusting the operator with their day and their time at sea, so the identity should look established and dependable.
  • Be easy to recognise: a clear mark helps guests find the business again after seeing it once.
  • Work outdoors and on small screens: a marine brand has to read clearly in bright sunlight, at a distance and as a small profile picture.

What did M7Alpha deliver?

M7Alpha created the Prive Yachting branding and logo. The aim was a single, consistent identity that the business can use wherever guests come across it, so every touchpoint looks like it comes from the same carefully run operation.

Where does a charter brand usually appear?

A charter brand usually has to work across a mix of online and physical places, often all in the same week.

Where guests see it What the brand has to do
Social media Stand out in a busy feed and look trustworthy
Booking platforms and listings Look professional next to other operators
Printed material and signage Stay clear outdoors and at a distance
Messages and confirmations Reassure guests they have booked with the right business

What can other tourism and leisure businesses learn?

Treat the brand as part of the experience you sell. In tourism, guests often decide from a small logo, a profile picture and a few lines of text, so a clear, well-made identity used consistently does a lot of quiet work. A logo is the start of a brand rather than the whole of it; our article on branding vs logo explains what a full brand adds.

Frequently asked questions

Who created the Prive Yachting brand?

M7Alpha Creative Studios, a web design, development and branding agency in Żurrieq, Malta, created the branding and logo for Prive Yachting, which runs private charter boat trips in Malta.

What is Prive Yachting?

Prive Yachting is a Malta business that runs charter boat trips, offering private boat charters.

What should a boat charter logo be like?

It should be simple, memorable and clear at small sizes, because guests often see it first as a social media profile picture or a listing thumbnail. It should also work in a single colour, so it can be printed, stitched or used on signage without losing detail.

Does a small charter business need full branding or just a logo?

A logo is the minimum, but a short set of brand rules, such as colours, fonts and how the logo is used, keeps everything consistent as the business grows. Consistency is what makes a small operator look established next to larger ones.
