Case study
Rave on Wave
Rave on Wave runs boat parties from Sliema, Malta: a day trip to the Blue Lagoon in Comino and a night cruise to St Paul's Islands or the Grand Harbour. M7Alpha designed and built its website, a bright, playful site with monthly ticket pages, illustrated routes and timetables and a clear call to book.

The project
Rave on Wave runs boat parties from Sliema, Malta. The day party sails at 11am to the Blue Lagoon in Comino and returns by 6pm, while the night party leaves at 7pm for St Paul’s Islands or Valletta’s Grand Harbour, weather permitting, and docks back in Sliema at 11pm. M7Alpha designed and built the website. This case study explains how a playful design and a simple booking flow fit a summer experience aimed at young visitors.
How do you design a website for a party boat?
Make it as fun as the trip. The homepage opens with an illustrated map of Malta covered in boats, flags and sunshine, a giant Rave on Wave title and a round Get Tickets badge. Bright sky blue and sunshine yellow, wavy section edges and bold rounded type carry through every page, so the site feels like a summer day on the water.
How do visitors book a trip?
Through monthly ticket pages. The Get Tickets page has a button for each month of the season, June, July, August and September, and each month shows its sailing dates as cards with a photo and a Buy Now button. Visitors choose a date and buy in a few taps, which suits people booking on their phone during a holiday.
How are the two trips explained?
In a Routes and Timetables section with an illustrated map for each trip:
| Rave by Day | Rave by Night | |
|---|---|---|
| Departs | 11am from Sliema | 7pm from Sliema |
| Destination | Blue Lagoon, Comino | St Paul’s Islands or the Grand Harbour, weather permitting |
| Returns | 6pm | 11pm |
| On board | Swimming, music and a cash bar | A moonlit swim, music, an open bar and snacks |
Short headline promises, such as five hours of waves and beats, sum up the experience for people who only skim.
What else does the site include?
- Get on board: a photo strip of past trips that shows what the day looks like.
- What they say: reviews from previous guests.
- Help and FAQs: the common questions about tickets, swimming and the music played.
What other tour and experience businesses can take from this project
- Match the design to the experience: a playful product deserves a playful site.
- Book by date: monthly pages with sailing dates make choosing easy.
- Show the route: a simple map and timetable answer the first questions.
- Use real photos: pictures from past trips sell the next one.
