Case study

UNEC-Starkgen

UNEC has supplied industrial, marine and critical power generation systems since 1989 and works with Starkgen on integrated generator solutions, with a head office in Malta and a factory in Turkey. M7Alpha designed and built the UNEC-Starkgen website, including a filterable catalogue of nearly 300 generators, solution pages and service information.

The project

UNEC has delivered industrial, marine and critical power generation systems since 1989. Through a strategic partnership with Starkgen, it combines generator technology with system-level engineering, from a head office in Malta and a factory in Turkey, with work across markets including Italy, France, Spain, Libya and Ghana. M7Alpha designed and built the UNEC-Starkgen website. This case study explains how the site makes a large, technical product range easy to search.

How do you present nearly 300 generators online?

With a catalogue buyers can filter by the specifications they already know. The Products Catalogue lists the full range, close to 300 generator sets, and filters narrow it down in seconds:

Filter Options
Power range From under 50 kVA to 2,500 kVA
Engine Perkins, Lister Petter, Basak, SDEC, Misaki
Alternator Lynx, Leroy Somer, WEG
Frequency and voltage 50 or 60 Hz, 400/231 or 380/220 V
Fuel and emissions Diesel, including Stage V models

Each product card shows the model, engine, alternator, standby and prime power, frequency, voltage and phase, with buttons to read more or get a quote. Engineers can compare models at a glance, and purchasing teams can request a price straight from the list.

How are solutions explained for different industries?

By the level of risk and the environment. The Solutions page covers critical power infrastructure, such as data centres, hospitals and telecoms, where any interruption is costly, and industrial and heavy-duty applications, such as manufacturing, mining and water treatment, where generators run under sustained load. Each solution explains the engineering approach and the applications it suits.

What services does the site cover?

Generators need support for their whole life, so the site gives each service its own page: installation, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, load bank testing, and remote monitoring and control.

What practical tools help buyers?

  • Power calculator: helps visitors estimate the generator size they need.
  • Generator user manual and certificates: technical documents in one place.
  • Become a dealer: a route for distributors in new markets.
  • Blog: articles and news that support search visibility.

How does the design suit an engineering brand?

A dark interface with warm amber photography, strong typography and the headline Engineered for Absolute Reliability give the brand a serious, industrial feel, while white product cards keep specifications easy to read.

Frequently asked questions

Who designed the UNEC-Starkgen website?

M7Alpha Creative Studios, a web design, development and branding agency in Żurrieq, Malta, designed and built the UNEC-Starkgen website. The site includes a filterable catalogue of nearly 300 generators, solution and service pages, and a power calculator.

What does UNEC-Starkgen do?

UNEC has supplied industrial, marine and critical power generation systems since 1989 and partners with Starkgen on integrated generator solutions. It offers generator sets up to 2,500 kVA and services including installation, maintenance, load bank testing and remote monitoring, from a head office in Malta and a factory in Turkey.

How should an industrial company show a large product range online?

Use a catalogue with filters for the specifications buyers search by, such as power, engine and voltage, show key specs on every product card, add a quote button to each product, and keep manuals and certificates easy to find.

How much does a product catalogue website cost in Malta?

It depends on the number of pages, features such as booking, listings or forms, and how ready the content and photography are. Our guide on how much a website costs in Malta explains what drives the price.
