Case study
Verdala Wellness Hotel
Verdala Wellness Hotel is an adults-only luxury wellness hotel in Rabat, Malta, run by AX Hotels. M7Alpha designed and built the hotel's section of the AX Hotels website, with its own menu and pages for accommodation, V Spa, wellness retreats, dining, the Verdala Journal and practical guest FAQs.

The project
Verdala Wellness Hotel is an adults-only luxury wellness hotel in Rabat, Malta, set above the Rabat valley and run by AX Hotels. M7Alpha designed and built the hotel’s pages, a dedicated Verdala section of the AX Hotels website with its own menu for accommodation, V Spa, wellness retreats, dining and the hotel’s story. This case study explains how we gave a wellness hotel its own voice inside a group website, and how the pages follow a guest’s wellbeing journey.
Why does Verdala have its own section rather than a separate website?
Because guests benefit from both: a space that feels entirely Verdala, and the shared reservations, offers and group information of AX Hotels.
Verdala sits alongside the group’s other hotels, restaurants, conference and wedding venues and gift vouchers on the AX Hotels website. Building it as a section means guests can move between Verdala and the wider group without leaving the site, while a dedicated Verdala menu keeps them inside the hotel’s world once they arrive. The group’s My Reservations and Help links stay within reach throughout.
What makes a wellness hotel different to present online?
A wellness hotel sells an approach to wellbeing as much as a room, so the pages explain the philosophy before they sell the stay.
Verdala’s concept is built on five pillars of wellbeing, covering nutrition, movement, rest and recovery, mindfulness and connection with community. The overview page introduces each pillar in a sentence or two, then shows how they shape the retreats, treatments, dining and rooms. A guest understands what Verdala stands for before scrolling down to accommodation, which is exactly the order a wellness traveller needs.
How is the Verdala section organised?
The Verdala menu follows the questions a wellness guest asks, from what the place is to how to get there.
| Pages | The guest’s question they answer |
|---|---|
| Overview, Our Story and Wellness Pillars | What is Verdala and what does it believe in? |
| Accommodation | Which room or suite suits my stay? |
| V Spa and Wellness Services | What treatments and facilities can I use? |
| Wellness Retreats | Is there a structured programme I can join? |
| Our Team and Our Practitioners | Who will look after me? |
| Culinary Experiences | Where and what will I eat? |
| Special Offers | Is there a reason to book now? |
| Verdala Journal | What is happening at the hotel? |
| Location, Gallery, Facilities and Contact Us | Where is it, what does it look like and how do I reach the team? |
How do the pages help guests choose a room, a retreat or a table?
Each option gets enough description to decide on, written in the calm, unhurried tone of the brand.
The accommodation page moves from Comfort Rooms and Deluxe Rooms to Junior Suites, Penthouse Suites and The Observatory Suite, describing each by its terrace, bathroom and view so guests can compare. The retreats section separates signature cultural retreats, seasonal retreats shaped by the island’s calendar and a tailored option where guests design their own itinerary. Dining is presented venue by venue, with The Griffin Brasserie, The Living Room and The Ridge Pool Bar each given its own character. Signature experiences, from guided countryside walks and private tours to yoga and culinary masterclasses, extend the stay beyond the hotel.
Why does an FAQ section matter for a hotel like this?
Because guests considering a wellness stay have practical questions, and answering them on the page builds confidence and gives AI assistants clear facts to quote.
The Verdala overview ends with answers on check-in and check-out, the minimum age for the hotel and spa, accepted payment cards, breakfast, pool towels, parking, car hire, taxis, the wellness facilities and medical assistance. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity whether a hotel in Malta has parking or an age limit, short factual answers like these are what those assistants look for. Our guide to getting your business recommended by ChatGPT explains why.
What can other hotel groups learn from this project?
That each property in a group deserves its own menu and voice, even when it shares a website.
- Give every hotel its own navigation inside the group site.
- Explain the concept first when it is the reason guests choose you.
- Present spa, dining and experiences as part of the stay, not as extras.
- Keep a journal or news area so the pages stay fresh.
- Answer practical questions in an FAQ on the page itself.

Should a hotel in a group have its own website or a section of the group site?
Both can work. A section within the group site keeps reservations, offers and group information in one place, while a dedicated menu and design for each hotel still gives it its own identity. The right choice depends on how independently each property is marketed.
What should a wellness hotel website explain?
The hotel’s approach to wellbeing, the treatments and facilities, any retreats or programmes, the rooms, the food, and the people who will look after guests. Practical FAQs on age limits, parking and facilities help guests book with confidence.
